Motif 1 - 2014
This is the starting point for my creative process for my Master of Visual Arts - self-portraits and filming myself warming up and moving in the studio - I want to continue with my 'motif' of specific movements by filming others re-interpreting the moves - the 'interprète' as suggested by French critic Laurence Louppe.
Motif 2 - For Interprète part 2 2014
Another instalment of my MVA project - using the Motif - experimenting with editing. The project is danced and filmed by Sonia York-Pryce.
Motif 3 -.Interprète  - The MOTIF sent to eight Dancers for  MVA 2014.
This group of movements was first choreographed in 1987 when I was a student at Laban UK. Now, four dancers from The Australian Dance Artists and four British dancers will interpret the moves in the mode of Laurence  Louppe's experiment and experience, and artist Sophie Calle's body of work Take care of yourself. The intention is for the dancers to interpret my motif in whatever form they feel appropriate, changing the choreography, the intent, and or transforming it into a totally personal sequence of movements. Both groups of dancers will be filmed and photographed. This film will then become part of a PhD.
